Just doesn't work well

I've been working with PE for a couple months now, and am frustrated at the number of clips that just don't sync. I level the audio, put them in chronological order, select "try really hard" and still more than half the clips just hang off the end of the sequence and I have to sync them manually. Anybody else having this trouble?

MAC OS 10.6.3, MC5.0.3

Yes, this happens to me all the time. Most annoying is that I choose "Clips are in chronological order" and it jumbles them up.
