The Presto start window
When you first start Presto, or close the Presto project window, you will be presented with the Presto start window.
Final Cut Pro users
Presto supports Final Cut Pro 6 and 7.
Select the Final Cut Pro tab for importing a sequence from Final Cut Pro.

-
The Project pop-up menu lists any saved projects currently open in FCP (if FCP is not open, the project and sequence menus will be blank)
-
The Sequence pop-up menu lists the sequences in the selected project
-
Press the Refresh button to update the menus if changes have occurred in Final Cut since you started Presto.
-
Press the Get Sequence button to start a new Presto project using the selected sequence (the start window will close).
-
Advanced option — importing FCP XML: You can start a new project by importing an XML file that you have exported from FCP. To do this, use the menu item File > Import FCP XML... If the file contains more than one sequence, you can select adifferent sequence from the Sequence pop-up menu on the first wizard tab (Assign Roles).
Premiere Pro users
Presto supports Premiere Pro CS4 or newer.
Select the Premiere Pro tab for importing a project (in Final Cut Pro XML format) from Premiere Pro or from PluralEyes for Premiere Pro.
Premiere Pro CS4 requires PluralEyes for Premiere Pro. Synchronize your sequence in PluralEyes, and then import the FCP XML file generated by PluralEyes into Presto.
In Premiere Pro CS5 or newer, export your project from Premiere using File > Export > Final Cut Pro..., and then import the FCP XML file into Presto. You can also import the FCP XML file generated by PluralEyes directly.

Opening an existing Presto project
The right hand side of the start window lists recently used Presto project files:
-
Press the Open button to open the selected project (the start window will close)
-
Press the Open Other... button to open a file chooser dialog for opening any other Presto project file (the start window will close if you choose a project)
Presto project files have a ".presto" file extension.
