DualEyes for Windows 2.0.5 (6764)

The following problems and limitations have been confirmed and may be addressed in upcoming releases.

  1. Support for some video formats is dependent on what codecs and other software are installed on the system. Contact support if you need assistance with this.
  2. Installing AC3Filter Full can help. Note: After installing any new codecs, and before trying the sync again, delete any folders named pluraleyes_synctemp that are next to the original media files used in the sequence being synced.
  3. Replace audio doesn't work when the media files are on a local drive that is set up as a mapped network drive. (This is an unusual configuration and won't affect most people.)

PluralEyes for Final Cut Pro 2.1.12 (6752)

The following problems and limitations have been confirmed and may be addressed in upcoming releases.

FCP X:

  1. If the project frame rate is different from the clips' frame rate, it probably won't sync properly. Workaround: Make sure the project frame rate matches the clip frame rate.
  2. Replace audio won't work properly if the external audio is in dual-mono format. Workaround: Select any such clips and change to stereo in the Info window in FCP X.

FCP 6/7:

  1. Marker colors are not preserved in the output sequence.
  2. If you use the sync option Replace audio and drag the resulting clips from the Timeline to the Browser or the Viewer, they will be out of sync. Instead, use the merged master clips that are created in the Browser.

PluralEyes for Media Composer (OS X) 2.0.1 (6744)

The following problems and limitations have been confirmed and may be addressed in upcoming releases.

  1. AMA support requires MC5.5 or later.
  2. The sequence that is being synced must be quite "clean", with minimal editing: no effects, filters, etc. Trimming by setting in and out points is OK though.

PluralEyes for Premiere Pro (OS X) 2.0.4 (6268)

The following problems and limitations have been confirmed and may be addressed in upcoming releases.

  1. Depending on which codecs and QuickTime plug-ins you have installed, the following video types may need some extra help: .MXF, .MTS, .M2T, .MPEG.
    • Installing the Perian QuickTime component helps a lot. Note: After installing any new codecs, and before trying the sync again, delete any folders named pluraleyes_synctemp that are next to the original media files used in the sequence being synced.
    • For MXF, some people find that having Calibrated(Q) MXF Import installed works.
    • If you do have a problem with any video format, the workaround described here is very effective.

PluralEyes for Premiere Pro (Windows) 2.0.3 (7050)

The following problems and limitations have been confirmed and may be addressed in upcoming releases.

  1. If you get errors about audio extraction, or if Adobe Media Encoder gets invoked, either (1) install QuickTime 7 and AC3Filter, or (2) use the workaround described here. Note: After installing any new codecs, and before trying the sync again, delete any folders named pluraleyes_synctemp that are next to the original media files used in the sequence being synced.

Singular Software Presto for OS X 2.0.4 (6016)

The following problems and limitations have been confirmed and, where possible, may be addressed in upcoming releases.

  1. Issue: MTS files are not supported as video media (because this format is not supported by Quicktime)
Workaround: render MTS files to a Quicktime supported format that preserves good quality (such as Apple ProRes 422 LT or Apple Intermediate Codec) prior to importing into Presto
  2. Issue: FCP XML files exported from Presto (using the File > Export FCP XML... menu command) cannot be imported into Adobe® Premiere Pro®
Workaround: directly importing Presto projects into Premiere Pro is not currently possible due to limitations in Premiere Pro's FCP XML import; however Presto for OS X v2.0 adds direct rendering to a Quicktime movie for project export; the rendered movie can then be used in Premiere Pro.
  3. Issue: layout transitions may not be smooth if a transition is placed very close to the start of a clip so that the transition starts prior to that clip
Workaround: move the transition point so that the transition does not overlap the clip boundary; or right click on the transition and choose "Cut" to use a cut instead of a transition
  4. Issue: some video formats with multiple audio channels are represented as a single audio track in Premiere Pro; in Presto if you try to render the project you will receive the warning: "There is a mismatch between the number of audio channels detected by Quicktime and the number of audio tracks in the project; Presto will mix down all channels to mono."
Workaround: separate the audio channels into individual audio tracks before importing the project into Presto if you do not want the mono mix; alternatively, render using Presto with the mono mix, and then combine the rendered video and original audio as desired in a Premiere Pro sequence.
